The champion, and the builds off it

A family is a champion and its builds — base first, then the finetunes. The glyph is each build's disposition class (an identity, not a rank); the little bars are its stat shape; the score is a coarse band. Open any one for its full field-note.

What each build changed

Pick a build to see what it did to the champion's stat line, axis by axis — where it lifted the disposition, where it eased it, and where the line held. An axis a reading abstained on stays an honest blank.

This build lifts Turn-Taking, Performed Voice; the rest of the line holds.

What ties the family together

DialoGPT is a conversational retrain of GPT-2 on dialogue data: it takes on a clear conversational/dialogue register where the base is a plain text-continuer. Unlike the instruction-tuned families, the finetune responds in dialogue turns rather than following instructions. The 355M GPT-2 Medium base sits beside the 124M small base as the next point in the GPT-2 size sweep; it reads as the same plain text-continuer (moderate length, repetition-prone), with its refuse/comply disposition abstained — a pretrained base under a uniform chat template echoes control tokens rather than producing a readable refusal.
